Frank Fortin
Senior Communications Consultant

Frank Fortin, CAE, is a principal in High Rock Strategies, a marketing communications consultancy based in Falls Church, Virginia. Frank has held leadership roles in print and broadcast journalism, including WJAR-TV (Providence, R.I.) and the Providence Business News. At WJAR, he was the recipient of a New England Regional Emmy Award for Team Coverage of Breaking News Story. He received awards for two documentary films that he produced and directed, “The Grass is Greener” and “Dream Weaver.” He also served as a senior partner in RDW Group, a leading regional market/public relations agency in Providence, serving a wide range of for-profit and not-for-profit clients.

Frank went on to serve as Chief Digital Strategist and Communications Director for the Massachusetts Medical Society, the publisher of the New England Journal of Medicine. At MMS, Frank led the organization into the digital communication era, where he oversaw multiple website upgrades, launched its social media channels and e-newsletters, managed all executive communications and oversaw its advocacy and crisis communications activities.

Frank then served as executive director of the Society for General Internal Medicine, and executive vice president for the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), where he led its marketing, communications and membership programs.

Since founding High Rock Strategies, Frank’s activities have included providing interim marketing and communications leaderships for several organizations, leading led an APhA multi-pronged project to educate providers and patients about the COVID-19 vaccines, and working on communication audits for the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the American Counseling Association, and the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment.
